SCRIPTS (2018) - Mixed Reality Renderings
In theater, a script is written text that is performed by actors. In computer science, scripts are instructions composed of lines of code that are executable. In architecture, construction documents can be thought of as scripts which provide direction on what is to be built. Scripts may be brought into reality once executed or may remain suspended as a purely latent direction.
This on-going body of work questions what is lost or gained with the execution of a script? What is the inherent and independent value of a script? What relationship does a script have to the resulting action? At what point can a script also be thought of as the resulting product?
With a script, the idea becomes the thing of value, while the execution may become secondary. Intent is realized in its purest state.
